Council Bluffs Airport Authority Board Members

Scott Hartman – Chairman

Scott is a Senior Financial Advisor, Vice-President with US Bancorp Investments in Council Bluffs where he has worked for the last 25 years.  Scott lives in Council Bluffs and has served on a variety of different boards in the community including current positions: Saint John Lutheran Church as Treasurer, Jennie Edmundson Hospital Foundation, Children’s Square USA Board as Treasurer, Iowa West Foundation Place Making committee as Chair. He is a graduate of Leadership Council Bluffs and Leadership Iowa and holds a BA from Westmar College and an MBA from the University of Iowa.

Rick Crowl – Vice Chairman

Rick is the former Pottawattamie County Attorney and currently a partner at Stuart Tinley Law Firm LLP. Rick is an aviation enthusiast and brings a huge amount of legal experience and perspective to our board. Rick is also a member of The Iowa Bar Association, The County Attorneys Association, The Iowa Trial Lawyers Association, The Pottawattamie County Bar association and The Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce. Rick serves as current Chairman of the Iowa West Foundation and is a member of the Frontier Bank and Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital boards.

Jeanette “Jeannie” Aldredge – Secretary/Treasurer

Board member Jeannie Aldredge is a lifelong resident of Council Bluffs. She is currently the Executive Assistant to the Chairman & CEO of SilverStone Group, Inc. Jeannie also serves as the Trustee & President of the Thomas Jefferson High School Alumni Association and has been a member of Executive Women International since 1998. She is a member of First Christian Church and is an Iowa Notary Public. Jeannie was elected to Secretary/Treasurer at the October 2009 meeting of the Council Bluffs Airport Authority based on many complimentary comments from other board members regarding her abilities in this regard.

Brad Knott – Member

Brad is a non-practicing A&P Mechanic. He spent four years with the Pottawattamie County Sherriff’s office as a corrections officer and Deputy Sheriff. He has spent the last 30 years as a realtor with Key Real Estate here in Council Bluffs. He is active at the Community of Christ Church and serves as an Elder. He is a past member of the Council Bluffs Sertoma Club and current member of the Eastend Optimist. He has served on numerous committees with the Southwest Iowa Association of Realtors including Past President.

Barbara Vredeveld – Member

Barbara Vredeveld retired as Dean of Planning and Institutional Research after 30 years in various roles with Iowa Western Community College. She presently serves as an Academic Quality Improvement Program peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission and consults with the Iowa Department of Education on special projects.

Steve Dermody – Member

Steve is a retired Boeing Company pilot. He obtained his private pilot license in 1970 while working as a line boy at the Council Bluffs Airport. He is a graduate of St. Albert High School and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from Webster University. Steve served six years in the USN as a naval aviator. After the Navy he joined McDonnell Douglas as a system safety engineer on the F-18 Hornet program. He transitioned to a testbed pilot role, and later, to testbed operations manager. Throughout his flying career with McDonnell Douglas/Boeing he flew for over 130 test evaluation, demonstration, and R&D programs. Steve is a former Beech Bonanza owner. He holds airline transport pilot and certified flight instructor certificates and is type-certificated in Beech 300/350/1900 and Boeing 737/757/767 aircraft.

Patti McAtee – Member

Patti currently serves as fund development director for the Greater Omaha Chamber and its Foundation. The mission of the Chamber is to increase business, investment and employment in the Greater Omaha region. The funds raised through the Foundation provides financial resources to the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership to conduct regional economic development in southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa. Over the course of the past 10 years, Patti has secured more than $50 million for the Chamber’s economic and community development efforts.

Patti is a lifelong resident of Council Bluffs and a graduate of Iowa Western Community College. Prior to her work at the Greater Omaha Chamber, she ran her own communications business, served as vice president of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company and was manager of marketing and public relations for Bergan Mercy Medical Center. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has served on several boards and committees including United Way of the Midlands.
